About the update
Leo shared the team’s work developing the Sustainable Allelopathic Field Eradication (S.A.F.E.) System—a sustainable, ecologically responsible treatment designed to inhibit future growth of invasive species, with a particular focus on Japanese Stiltgrass.
The presentation walked through Re:Imagine’s research model: collecting food waste, dehydrating and processing it, extracting allelopathic compounds, producing test formulations, and evaluating their effect through controlled field experimentation.
Highwood Hills is one of the project’s active field sites. The team is tracking treated plots over time to compare regrowth and identify encouraging results while continuing its research and computational analysis.
